Pyromancy creates welcoming spaces where people can make, move, experiment and connect without needing to already think of themselves as creative.
We believe creativity should belong to everybody.
Art, movement and creative opportunities should not be luxuries reserved for people with money, confidence, experience or access to the “right” spaces. Creativity is not an optional extra — it can play a vital role in confidence, self-worth, connection and helping people feel part of their community.
Our work brings together visual art, craft, movement, performance and community-led projects in ways that are practical, playful and accessible. Some sessions are about learning a new skill. Some are about confidence, connection or trying something completely outside your comfort zone. Others grow into collaborative artwork, performances or projects that become part of the wider community.
We are especially interested in creating opportunities for people who may not feel comfortable in traditional arts, fitness or social spaces. That means keeping things low-pressure, non-competitive and flexible, with room for people to take part in their own way.
You do not need experience. You do not need to be “good at art.” You do not need to perform, talk in front of a group or keep up with anyone else.
You just need somewhere to start.

Our Values
Creativity without barriers
You do not need experience, specialist knowledge or expensive equipment to be creative.
We aim to remove as many barriers to participation as we can and create opportunities that are affordable, approachable and flexible.
Participation over perfection
We care far more about people having the confidence to try than producing a perfect finished result.
Experimentation, mistakes, curiosity and finding your own way of doing something are all part of the process.
Community matters
Some of the strongest creative work happens when people make something together.
We design projects that create opportunities for people to contribute, connect and feel ownership over the things created in their communities.
Different ways of taking part are valid
Not everyone learns, communicates, moves or socialises in the same way.
Our sessions are designed to give people room to participate in ways that feel manageable and comfortable for them.
Creativity can grow confidence
Trying something unfamiliar, learning a new skill or contributing to a shared project can change how people see themselves.
That confidence can often travel beyond the activity itself.
Local creativity deserves investment
We believe artists, makers and creative practitioners should have opportunities to develop, experiment, collaborate and earn from their work.
Supporting local creativity also strengthens the places we live in.
Our approach
Accessible
We try to design activities around the people taking part rather than expecting people to adapt themselves to the activity.
That might mean changing how instructions are given, offering different materials or ways of participating, allowing additional time, providing quieter ways to engage or choosing more accessible venues.
We know accessibility is not one fixed checklist and we continue learning from the people we work with.
Non-competitive
You will rarely hear us asking who is the best.
There are no rankings, no pressure to keep up and no expectation that everyone should produce the same result.
Whether someone is painting, trying a hoop for the first time or performing in front of an audience, they are encouraged to work at their own pace.
Community-led
We do not believe in arriving with a completely finished idea and expecting a community to simply participate in it.
Wherever possible, projects develop through conversation, experimentation and the ideas of the people involved.
Sometimes the final outcome looks very different from where we started.
We think that is a good thing.
Neurodivergent-led
Pyromancy is neurodivergent-led, and that influences how we think about creativity, participation and access.
We understand that traditional learning, fitness, social and arts spaces do not work for everybody.
Our work often includes more flexibility, less pressure, room for experimentation and different ways to engage.
This does not mean our work is only for neurodivergent people.
It means we design spaces with the understanding that people experience the world differently.
